Bitter Sweet Monster

Further to the recent team meeting we had where various managers were put on consultation, today, we had an all employees' meeting.

The usual corporate stuff, how well we did against our goals, what our targets are for the next quarter, pat on the back for everyone for the work they've done and oh by the way, shame there are to be 'casualties' during the restructure and integration.

I can't have been the only person to notice that nearly half of the people who were given awards at the end of the meeting for all their hard work, for the extra mile they've gone, for exceeding expectations etc are the among those around the business who have been put on consultation. No wonder they weren't smiling as they collected their awards.

What does this tell you? That the company is potentially/likely to be losing all of these important key hard-working people who have helped the company achieve its targets.

It just doesn't make sense.

Still no news on our immediate department - we should hear some announcement in a few weeks apparently....

The suspense (amongst other things) is killing me.
