All Gone Quiet

The week has whizzed by but has been most unpleasant in parts.

Most of the people being made redundant at work were told this week if they were staying, going or having further interviews.

The consultations took place in an office near where I sit - we saw people going in one by one, some coming out looking relieved, others coming out crying. It wasn't nice.

My immediate colleagues (including my boss) had their interviews this week - the boss is safe but will now be more remote in his role; AR has unfortunately been told he will leave at the end of Oct; JH will find out her fate next week. There is just no motivation whatsover for anyone around the business.

With the family gone, the house is really quiet and feels empty. I should keep myself busy reading up on interview techniques and stuff but I'm just too distracted.

Right, that's the crappy stuff over and done with - the good stuff? Sport mainly...

Ok, so my first match watching Ebbsfleet United ended up in a 3-2 loss against Wrexham, ending an undefeated run of 6 games but it was a decent match, some atrocious refereeing decisions though.

Not the usual beer & song-filled day out as the Manchester lads didn't go and I was driving but it was good to meet other MyFC members.

Liverpool notched up their first win against Man United under Rafael Benitez' management. With the two stars of the team Gerrard and Torres starting on the bench, some shocking Scouse defending allowed United to take an early lead, before an own goal gave Liverpool an equaliser. Babel came off the bench for the deserved winning goal!

Liverpool also had a good start to their Champions League campaign too, beating Marseille 2-1, including a Stevie G wonder goal!

Right, that's all for my sports waffle - bit more of a girlie weekend coming up! :-)
