Week Over

You know when you're so tired but you can't get to sleep?

Well, I was like that for most of this week - still tired from my weekend down in London, (which included watching England lose in the rugby and Lewis Hamilton losing the F1), I found that I couldn't manage my usual 6 hours of sleep a night, never mind catch up on my lost hours - I think on two nights, I only managed 4 hours so was really run down.

I don't think I had a good night's sleep until Thursday night. Anyway, it was great to spend time with big sis and baby nephew - he's changed so much already, is a cute chunky baby, full of smiles but still crying in the night.

It was the first time I'd flown down to Gatwick, which was really convenient as big sis doesn't live that far away from the airport (my plane ticket cost only £20 more than a train ticket...). Her other half picked me up at the airport in their VW Golf V8. Now I dunno much about cars but this is apparently pretty sporty and he proceeded to show me how sporty by driving 120 mph - it was an experience (one I last had many years ago), especially as the motorway narrowed down to one lane...!

Anyway, after a pretty tiring and stressful week at work which saw tears and playground-like tantrums (none of them mine), I was looking forward to a relaxing weekend and I sort of got it.

Met up with my gran on Sunday - recently, she told me that my mum and my aunt had discussed with her about moving back to Hong Kong so that they could be closer to her and have someone help her fulltime. She's lived in her little apartment in Manchester for nearly 20 years so she's a little reluctant but I think she will agree.

I will miss her so much when she leaves (no more family left in Manchester!) but it'll probably mean more regular trips out to HK for me from now on.
