When It Rains, It Pours

Doing my bit for charity yesterday found me ankle deep in mud (the wellies came in handy!), in the pouring rain, pulling weeds from a path. Had it been dry, it would have been vaguely fun, in a team-building kinda way. Strange weather for October - very wet but still not that cold.

Anyway, the company I work for is one of the major sponsors of the Children's Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT), which provides holidays/activities for disadvantaged children in the North West. I think some minor Royal is coming to visit shortly to give some profile to the place, hence the mad activity to spruce up the place a little.

After 2 and half hours, we just got too wet and bedraggled to carry on, the rain got heavier so we just got the rest of the afternoon off work. And I'd booked today off too, so yay!

Had a relaxing day shopping at Manchester Fort in Cheetham Hill - I didn't even know the place existed - picked up some baby sleeping bag thing for my sister's impending offspring, a new suitcase and seven bargain CDs at £1 each from Borders.

Also spotted a beautiful watch that I'd like for Christmas... mentioned it to the bf when I got home, saying he could maybe get it for me and he nearly fell off his chair when he found out it was a Tag Heuer! Hmm..oh well, maybe I'll get it for myself... see what my cash is like after this holiday - only 17 days to go!!!

  1. Well, at least you made it out there and participated in the event.

Always nice to get time off work to get shopping in. My sister is having a baby too. I have to think about gifts for her shower as well.

bf should start saving for that watch.

  2. Woo! I got a British visitor to my blog. I'm officially cool now.

I should probably actually read the rest of your blog before I go and start commenting, but I don't really see the need. Anyone from anywhere ending in "-shire" or "-chester" is automatically awesome in my book.
