As posted previously, I was down in London again on Saturday, for a pubmeet. I left a cloudy Manchester early in the morning and arrived in a bustling and scorching London around noon.
After sunning myself just outside Euston Station, I made my way round the corner to the pub - woah! I didn't realise it was so close to Tavistock Square, where that double-decker bus got blown up! The place was still cordoned off, with tv and camera crews still filming the area.
Anyway, a great day - met up with some old faces and also met some new faces - there were 15* of us so it was a good turn out - as usual, I was the only female and for once, I was there in a girly skirt and all! With the weather scorching, we sat outside the pub and being the only female there, I was also the only one with sense to have applied sun cream AND have the bottle in my bag for further applications....! My tan is nicely topped up!
Spent the whole day talking Quest - did I ever ask myself at all during that time what on earth I was doing there, talking about a nerdy fantasy play-by-email game with a load of blokes?? Actually no.
But, some doubt did creep into my mind when travelling back home, my connection from Crewe was suddenly not running, so I had to catch a bus to Manchester and arriving an hour late, I missed the last tram from town and had to fork out for a taxi. Thus I blew my budget - what a crap end to a good day.
(*There was actually a 16th person, but he was so shy that he didn't join us and just sat at the next table...nobody knew who he was so didn't talk to him...) :O
So did you share the sun lotion then :)
ReplyDeleteLOL - yep I did. There were a couple of the lads who were "hard" and refused to put any on...they were looking kinda lobster-ish after a few hours!
