What a fantastic weekend! Well, I didn't actually do a lot really, but against all odds, Britain had a bit of a heatwave and it was gorgeous - my bikini made a rare outing!! :)
Temperatures of around 28-30 degrees celsius no doubt led to barbecue sets/charcoal sales through the roof at supermarkets. Over the two days, I ate very little but drank a lot (beer and water).
The sun was very hot and I got to use the air-con in my car (woohoo!). I still don't understand why some people don't use sun cream/block, especially those of very fair skin, exposing bits of their bodies that are normally covered by thick British-weather clothing. I tan quite well (my arms especially) but under UK sun, if I'm out for long periods, then I'm usually smothered in factor 20-25. When I went to Malaysia a couple of years back, I was using factor 50.
Today, looking at various red faced lobsters at work, it was obvious that some people had never even heard of sun cream. It's almost as if they think that the sun in the UK isn't as hot as the sun abroad when they're on holiday. Rather their skin, than mine. Just looking at their sunburn is making me whince! Owww!
I wish it would get warm in New England...sigh...:}
