Booted

Typically this morning, the start of the working week, it's a blue sky with sunshine.

Could have done with this kind of weather yesterday, where it rained on and off with a chill wind blowing. Despite this unfavourable climate, the boyfriend and I were in a muddy field at 8am, trying to sell some of our surplus stuff in a car boot sale.

If you've ever been to a car boot sale, then you'll know that most of the stuff that people sell is useless old junk and rubbish. Dog-eared yellowing books, cheap ornaments, old stuffed toys, pots & pans, copied cds, games and dvds (more and more of these).

I'd like to say that the stuff we had on offer was of "higher quality" - eg bagged comics, graphic novels, books, dvds, cds, sci-fi magazines, all in excellent condition.

What always amazes me is that some people expect to pay just 50p for everything! 50p for a CD or DVD? Madness!

Annoyingly, the boyfriend wandered off, leaving me to look after the table. I don't mind this but what I do mind is that he comes back with other people's junk! The point of doing car boot sales is to get rid of surplus things from the house, not buy more, but I can't seem to get this into his head!

Still, we made a good profit overall, but the rain and wind took its toll and I ended up with a runny nose. When we got back, the house seemed just as full of things...

I think I'll give the next one a miss - that way, the bf won't be able to wander off, he'll have to look after the table himself.

19 days til pay day and I'm skint, so the extra cash has come in handy!
