Alias Addiction!

I bought season 1 of Alias a while ago but only decided to start watching it at the weekend...now I (and the bf, who wandered in halfway through the first episode!) am utterly hooked!
For those who don't know, here's the blurb:
"College student, Sydney Bristow (played by the excellent Jennifer Garner) leads an exciting double life. During her freshman year, she was duped into joining an organisation that looks after the interests of international criminals, thinking that she was joining the CIA. To get her own back she teams up with the CIA as a double agent..."
Sounds simple - it aint! Some have described Alias as a cross between Buffy and James Bond.
Certainly the plots are at times implausible (eg diffusing nuclear bomb with seconds to spare etc) but the main thing is that the pace is great, Garner makes a super and believable heroine and there's a fine story arc in there, involving both main and peripheral characters.
Many of the episodes end in cliffhangers, leaving you looking at your watch and muttering if you have time to squeeze in the next episode!
If I were still a child, then I would want to be Sydney Bristow when I grew up!
I think I'll have a nose in Amazon to see about getting the other series on DVD.
I always meant to watch Alias, but never actually got around to it. And then, once season 1 was over I figured I'd missed stuff so why bother.

I bought Firefly simply because I was a Buffy and Angel fan. Now I love the show (and still annoyed it got cancelled)
Funny - I was just looking at the Firefly DVD on Amazon... my friends who are fellow Buffy and Angel fans have told me I must buy it! I'm sure I'll like it...my bank balance isn't looking too hot, so it's on my wishlist! :)

Me and the gf had the whole of December off from work. So we borrowed all 5 seasons of Alias and just popped in the DVD's one after another. It was worth the time!
