It was with some excitement (and a little dread) that I sat down on Saturday evening to watch the BBC's long awaited return of Doctor Who. My favourite Timelord will always be the great Tom Baker, but I was determined to watch this new series without bias.
Anyway, I wasn't disappointed - the music, the Tardis (and the sound it made when it was travelling) brought back great memories, yet the programme has also moved with the times, with some nice special effects (the changing hands of the "plastic boyfriend" reminded me of the T2 terminator, only plastic instead of liquid metal!).
My boyfriend stuck around to watch the first few minutes and then left muttering something about political correctness.
Me, I'm going to stick it out and enjoy the series. Billie Piper makes a decent change too, compared to the last few Doctor companions.
