I've had really bad toothache for the last few days. Not just little twinges that some people get when you eat something too hot or too cold, but full blown aching that at times brings tears to my eyes and has been stopping me from getting decent sleep.
My dental bills average around £200 per year, so with the dire money situation, you can see why I've been avoiding going to see him but I couldn't stand the pain any more and made an emergency appointment this morning.
When he poked at my tooth, I nearly leapt out of the chair. A similar reaction when he poked at the teeth on either side of the offending molar. An x-ray was taken, which showed nothing untoward.
It seems I have sinusitis and my inflamed sinus in my cheek is causing my teeth and jaw to ache! Who'd have thought?! I thought I needed that damn tooth pulling out or an abcess to be drained!
So, I've been prescribed antibiotics (the pills are the size of torpedoes!) - I hope they work very soon.
Think I'll have a facial steam to see if that helps clears the sinuses too.
