Cars...Who'd Have them??? :(

Was driving back on the motorway last night after a tearful goodbye to my sister at the airport (new year, new job, new life in Hong Kong for her!), when me and the boyfriend heard a strange low screeching sound coming from under the car. I turned the radio off and there...we both definitely heard it, as I drove at only 60mph. As I have a 45 mile round trip to work, I couldn't take any chances so booked it into the garage.

Got there at 8.45am and didn't pick up the car until 2pm - hung around town all that time because - 1) I didn't have any money for a taxi fare 2) The boyfriend's own car was in the garage getting the front bumper fixed after some idiot backed into it and drove off!

Soooo...what was wrong with the car? Well, the drive shaft was leaking water or something and needed replacing - £150 straight onto my credit card! :(

Had to take the day off as a holiday, so what a waste! I spent 4 hours in the library - figured that if I wandered around the shopping centre, I'd end up spending money that I don't have! :(

Hope this year is gonna get better!
