I still can't believe it! Had the interview on Tuesday, got offered the job yesterday, first day in my new role TODAY! My head's in a total spin!
It's not even official yet so I can't tell most of the people in the office but as I met up with delegates from our European offices today, what I felt was a little fear, happiness and pride.
Unlike some people who change jobs as often as they change their socks, I have been in the same job (with slight promotion) with the same company (several name changes though) for 9 years. Most of those 9 years have been happy ones, I've made some great friends and I've enjoyed the work.
But...as people moved on, I stayed where I was. I found myself involved in more things outside of my normal job role. There was no scope for promotion within the department - my boss has had her job for over 15 years and wasn't budging for no one. She had a favourite in the office (fat-boy-teacher's-pet) but it wasn't so bad that I felt compelled to leave.
European travel is on the cards - gawwwd, it's not sunk in yet.
I will miss my old job and colleagues but WOOHOO! :D
wooohooo! sheesh! darn! yay! WEEEH!! i can't believe you're like, from Lancashire! eeeup! where's yer vernacular gone luv?
