Company Christmas Party

Venue - the new Radisson Edwardian Hotel in Manchester, 5-star and rather posh.
Outfit - an emerald green clingy little number with sequins (Worryingly, on the label, it said "Flapper Dress"...)

I turned up late, flustered and flapping as it took me ages to fight through traffic from work and then my taxi was late. It was a good turn out, our department had 10 representatives, compared to the 2 last year (me and another girl). In total, probably around 200 people there - a lot of female flesh on show, big cleavages, lots of leg, the usual Christmas sights!

Free bottles of wine on the table meant that I didn't spend a single penny on drinks all night, but after the boss said I had to down a couple of shots of something that tasted like vodka, I slowed my drinking down a bit. Can't hack binge drinking these days - body isn't so young any more, head's a bit wiser too! :)

As usual, there was a lot of bitching, laughing, people falling over, people snogging people that they shouldn't be snogging, chatting to people you don't get a chance to speak to in the office. The food was kinda gourmet - the turkey was wrapped up in a parcel-wrapping of bacon but as such was unrecognisable as something that was edible. I just ate my sprouts, spuds and carrots like a good girl!

The music wasn't too good - the same old mix of 60s, 70s and 80s, but I was on the dancefloor all the same, strutting my stuff.

Took some photos with my disposable camera and also took photos with other people's cameras that were left on the tables - am sure they will appreciate it! :)

All in all a good night - there were a couple of 'casino tables' where people played for fake money - shame I only discovered them just as they were packing up - I'd been too busy mingling!

Bearing in mind last year's nightmare two hour queue for a taxi in the rain at 2.30am, I pre-booked my taxi this time, so at 12.30am, a little like Cinderella, I said my quick goodbyes and left. Shame, as the party was still in full swing, but by 1am, I was tucked up in bed, with a glass of Alkaseltzer and pounding headache beating at my temples.

I think I'm getting kinda sensible in my old age! Next do is 18th December - need to find a new outfit!
