Along with 27,278 others, I am now a part "owner" of a football club, namely Ebbsfleet United FC.
Members of MyFootballClub (MyFC) voted overwhelmingly to take over 75% of the Blue Square Premier club.
In March, we apparently will be involved in team selection...
The reaction of the current Ebbsfleet fans? A few hardcore are still not happy but I think most are now of a view that MyFC has the club's best interests in mind to move onwards and upwards.
To quote a fan, now also a MyFC member:
"Whatever happens, without MYFC, the Club would not be able to continue to support Full time football. So MYFC has already a) helped to save the livelihoods of the players and b) guaranteed the club full time football so thx!"
So here's to the start of an incredible football journey - not sure when I can attend a home game but should be attending an away game over the next month or so! There could even be a Wembley trip!!
Premier League in 5-6 years is improbable though not impossible .... :-)

ReplyDeleteAs for the term "douche," yes, I think it's French for "shower" (I know that's the Portuguese translation). In the States, it's, umm, a feminine hygiene product. It's also a general term of derision.
