
Gerrard's early goal seemed too easy and it was natural to think that we would have this tie sewn up in no time.

Rafa the Gaffer, master tactician, had to make some changes and he brought on Florent Sinama Pongolle, who very soon made a difference and scored within five minutes of coming on, to make it 2-3. Then, a beautiful 40 yard strike from Xabi Alonso gave the Reds their equaliser.
At 3-3, I thought that Liverpool would probably just sit back - fortunately I was wrong. A headed goal by Sinama Pongolle and a 60 yard lob from Alonso made it 3-5 to Liverpool in what must surely go down as one of the most remarkable games in the FA Cup history.
Not quite as exciting as the Champions League final but breathtaking all the same!
As a neutral I have to say it was a truly fantastic game of football & that poor old Luton can quite rightly consider themselves hard done by
