Fuzzy Magic

My head's pretty fuzzy from a hangover - maybe I shouldn't mix red wine with G&Ts but last night was a good do, the usual Christmas frivolities with people you work with, see around the office, bump into in the canteen, etc. There were the usual snogs in the corner (not me), drunken groping (not me but happened to me) and the usual tears (not me). But hey, no fights this year!

I went to the hairdressers beforehand and had my hair cut and styled - I nearly didn't recognise myself in the mirror, the face looking back was so girlie! Anyway, my silk dress held up ok all night (with the help of "tit-tape" or whatever you call that stuff that sticks to you and the dress and stops everything from falling out...), even though I did manage to spill some gravy down it...oh well, probably ruined now.

Went to see Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire - magic! As Goblet is my favourite HP book so far, I was hoping they would do a good job of it and they did!

There was more magic this afternoon, when Peter Crouch scored his first goal for Liverpool after a goal drought that the media has been going on about for ever. They'll have to start talking about Beckham again now that Crouch's duck has been broken.

Off to Brussels tomorrow for work - should be my last trip, which I'm both sad and happy about - it's tiring.

Honest! :)

  3. Fence - it's an unusual book, nothing like I've read before and the bits of extra info in the footnotes can be distracting at times. But am enjoying it so far (only on the 3rd chapter).

Kunstemaecker - I'm in Brussels for only a week - it's my first visit to Belgium. Been using my rusty French too and am looking forward to trying some Belgium beer! Got any recommendations? :)

  5. Charby - I'm on a project upgrading financial software so am travelling to the company's various European offices doing the training and helping with implementation. The project will end in a couple of months though and I'll have to find something else to do!
