It's Red Nose Day today and with my sniffy cold that I've caught from the boyfriend, there was no need for me to wear the plastic red nose!
As I pulled into the company carpark, I was accosted by what looked like a large goose, a wizard and Santa Claus...all holding buckets asking for donations. I didn't have any change in my car, but when I went to the canteen, I bought a raffle ticket and a fairy cake, baked by employees for the cause.
Various people were in fancy dress and there were lots of fun fund-raising competitions, auctions etc. The top auction prize was to have the Managing Director clean and valet your car, a golfing weekend, there was sporting event prizes, football quizzes, etc.
I didn't win anything.
I wonder how successful this year's Comic Relief will be, as I would have thought that most people, having already donated to the Tsunami Relief, may want to keep their pennies in their purses/wallets.
Should be some good tv tonight anyway.
A goose, a wizard and a Santa Claus? Where you work sounds like much more fun than where I work !
