Really Nasty Game... :)

As my sisters are going to be cooking Christmas dinner, I'm going to be chauffeur to pick up Grandma and also given the task to sort out "entertainment" - I mean, what else is there to do after stuffing our faces with food, except plonk ourselves in front of the TV? If there's nothing on TV, then perhaps a DVD.

So, in my infinite wisdom, I thought I'd buy a board game, something different from the old Monopoly and Cluedo games that are gathering dust in our garage.

Make way for The Really Nasty Horse Racing Game!

Ok, not everyone is into horse racing but most have had a flutter on a big race at some point in their lives. Even more have probably heard of the nasty side of racing, of race fixing or mugs losing fortunes on the track, stories of shady trainers and crooked jockeys!

This is exactly why Really Nasty Horse Racing is so cool, because in order to win the game, you need to be devious, cunning and downright nasty!

The object is simply to win the most money. You can do this in one of two ways. Firstly, by getting your horse placed in the top three finishers, and secondly, by placing bets on winning horses. Each player gets £20,000 cash, a betting slip and several all-important Really Nasty cards. The game lasts for a meeting composed of six races, so each player gets six horses, one for each race. To add to the uncertainty the horses are graded from one to six; one being the best and six being a right old nag, ripe for the knackers yard!

The real fun begins when the race is underway and the die start rolling, as that's when you can start blocking, changing lanes, forcing opponents to slip and calling for a steward's enquiry. There's even a riderless horse to help crank up the havoc, just like in real races!

Me and the boyfriend had a test run of the game - he won cos he's more devious and sneaky than me, the snake! ;) He had over £3 million, I had a paltry £150,000.

Beginner's luck - he won't be so lucky next time! I gotta play extra dirty!!
