Pub Meet 1

Up to Blackpool for the November Quest Pub Meet - it was a nice, dry sunny day but bitterly cold. Got to the B & B at 11am and was lucky to find a parking space right outside. There were only the usual ex-players inside, who were sat glued to a small tv playing not very good PS2 games.

Found out that the others were in a pub down the road.Watched the Spurs v Arsenal match - the final score was 4-5 (I missed two of the goals when I went to KFC to grab some lunch!) - felt sorry for Spurs to have put 4 goals past the Gooners and still not win.

After the game, we wandered back to the B & B for the meet- the downstairs area has been totally refurbished; totally unrecognisable from the dingy room they used to have, it looked really nice. Not a bad turn out, there was about 15 of us - oldest in age about 40 years old, youngest was just sweet 16! As usual, I was the only female player, although a couple of the guys had brought along wives and girlfriends! Some new faces, one guy had travelled from Denmark! Truly a Mad Dane!

Took a few photos to post on the forum. The GM was cornered by others for the first couple ofhours but I saw an opening, caught his eye and made my move, inviting him to sit with me and my "alliance cohorts"! :) He wasn't what I expected but was pleasant, although a little smug, like most GMs are, I suspect, since they have all this information that they drip feed to their players!

All in all, an interesting day - learned of the new proposed priest and mage changes, that will completely overhaul the magic/miracle system. Will make it interesting to have mages in your party again.

Different from previous meets, where the then GM would gather everyone round to make announcements and invite discussion and questions.

Back home at 9pm - picked up a KFC for the boyfriend on the way back and to cap off a good day, Liverpool beat Crystal Palace 3-2, Milan Baros scoring a hat-trick! Come on the Reds!

Will be doing this again next weekend, but for a different game!
