Don't shop at www.empiredirect.co.uk - their customer services is terrible! Feel guilty about this, as I feel it's partly my fault...but I was trying my best to help! :(
My mate at work AM was looking to get a minidisc player for her boyfriend - the Sony one he wanted was £200 in Argos. I told her she could probably find one cheaper online so checked out Google and found empiredirect. Buying from them would be saving her £40!
So, she placed the order, paid with her credit card and waited for delivery. And waited. Nothing arrived, so she emailed them. No reply. The payment appeared on her credit card statement. She called their customer services helpline and after trying several times, finally got through.
The item was apparently dispatched by courier on 28th Sept and she should have received it on 29th Sept. However, said courier van was stolen...with her minidisc player in it!
SO WHEN WERE EMPIRE DIRECT GOING TO CONTACT HER AND TELL HER ABOUT THE DELAY????
She asked them when her minidisc player would be replaced and sent out to her - they didn't know...
Two hours later, one of their team leaders phoned her to advise that the replacement player would be sent out today, arriving tomorrow... I so hope it does arrive - in time for her bf's birthday!
Very poor service - I wouldn't consider using them for any electronic stuff if they're that shoddy.
The boyfriend called - said his Star Wars Booster packs had arrived and he's gone and opened them already, even though he said he wouldn't! Said there's a couple of rare ones in there and that he might let me have one or two, cheeky bugger! I let him have all the Imperial ones from my game and booster box! Hope I get some good characters - read more of the rules last night before bed, so we can apply them to our battles tonight - some of the rules are still too complicated!
Spent couple of hours on my course - completed the two parts I needed to review, just got the case studies to do in my own time....
