Plot - A cab driver (Jamie Foxx) finds himself the hostage of an engaging contract killer (Tom Cruise) as he makes his rounds from hit to hit during one night in LA. He must find a way to save both himself and one last victim.
I really enjoyed this film, being a fan of most of Tom Cruise's films - here, he plays the role with energy and intensity and he makes a great 'bad guy'. I'd never seen Jamie Foxx before this film but his portrayal of a taxi driver with a simple life was very good, with some great pieces of acting later on in the film.
My main gripe would be the strange musical interludes that were dotted around the film. Whole minutes where there was no dialogue, just shots of the various people involved in the particular scene, shots of L.A, with some middle-of-the-road American music in the background. They went on for too long and too often for my liking.
All in all, I won't be buying the soundtrack to this movie but the film was worth watching, with some great gripping action and Tom Cruise at his best.
